Dear Reader,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the website of the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Rome, Italy with multiple accreditations to Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, North Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia; and to UN Specialised Agencies of FAO, WFP and IFAD.

Tanzania offers a positive, peaceful, and stable environment for business and investment in the short, medium, and long term. The conducive investment climate is underpinned by effective political, economic, and social policies that favor investors seeking to take advantage of the vast and in many instances, untapped investment opportunities. Tanzania is uniquely endowed with physical attributes, comparable to none in the East African region and beyond. These include offshore gas deposits, minerals, accessible harbors, vast arable land, water bodies abundant with resources, and national parks inhabited with natural flora and fauna that serve as magnets for investment in tourism and related sectors. Most importantly, Tanzania’s human capital remains eager, friendly, and determined to contribute to efforts to attract and retain investment from both foreign and domestic sources.

Tanzania and Italia have enjoyed a longstanding relationship since 1972 when we opened our first Mission in Rome. During this period, great strides have been recorded in political, economic, and social cooperation and partnerships. Trade and investment have been increasing steadily, and more technical and development cooperation has been flowing into Tanzania.

Our core mission at the Embassy is to assist in strengthening, deepening, and broadening this historical and strategic relationship for the benefit of our two great nations. If you require additional assistance or resources, please let us know and we will be more than happy to assist you.

Notwithstanding the above, we are also dedicated to engaging with Tanzania’s Diaspora by further integrating them into the national development agenda and continuing to improve our services to Tanzanians living and working in Italy and other areas of accreditation.

As we say in our national language, “Karibuni Sana” and I hope through this website, you will find important linkages, news, and information about the United Republic of Tanzania, Governance System, Travel and Tourism, Trade and Investment Opportunities, and Consular and Diaspora Services which are offered at the Embassy.
