In June 2025, H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, appointed a seasoned career diplomat, Ambassador Mbarouk Nassor Mbarouk, as the Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Republic of Italy and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Rome-based Agencies: FAO, IFAD, and WFP. Ambassador Mbarouk, is also accredited to seven Balkan countries: Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, Malta, and Montenegro.
On 20 November 2025, H.E. Ambassador Mbarouk Nassor Mbarouk presented his Diplomatic Credentials to H.E. Sergio Mattarella, President of the Republic of Italy, at the Quirinal Palace (Palazzo del Quirinale) in Rome. He was accompanied by his spouse during the ceremony, marking the formal commencement of his tour of duty. Following the credential ceremony, the Ambassador and his spouse were warmly received at the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania (Villa Tanzania) by the Mission’s staff.
